I have spent several months attempting to define and correct the Internet, TV, and Phone problems we have here at OBV. The Reader's Digest version of these efforts are as follows: Comcast has numerous and continuous deficiencies all over OBV. Embarq has generally isolated problems that are resolved quickly. Most homes in OBV have defective or low quality cable wiring which adds to the already low quality Comcast service. The phone line infrastructure is generally more forgiving and in better condition. Satisfaction survey I took last month showed great satisfaction with Embarq and great dissatisfaction with Comcast. It wasn't even close. Jim Lattmann attempted to set up a meeting with Comcast and us. It appears that that meeting will never happen. I did have a meeting with Embarq to see if we could get an incentive program for OBV residents using Comcast, to switch to Embarq. To paraphrase Embarq, we know Comcast service at OBV is continually bad, and if you want another service, Embarq is your only choice so we don't have to offer a special incentive. The worst part is that they are right. I am supposed to have another meeting with a promotional rep next week. I'll post the results. Maybe we can get some incentives, but don't hold your breath. Right now, my recommendation is that if you are getting service for the first time, or having continuing trouble with Comcast, go with Embarq but watch your packages and options. Review your options at (Link to Embarq). If you can wait till next week, wait to see if I can save you some money.
